Welcome to The 40th HSP Gathering Retreat.

Coming Home to Ourselves and Reclaiming Our Wholeness as Highly Sensitive People
(again and again and again)
June 6-11, 2025 – Five Nights

with Jacquelyn Strickland and
Dr. Elaine Aron in person on Tuesday, June 10, 2025

Based on feedback from past participants we have added a fifth night which allows for more processing time,  including plans for reintegration back home, and/or time to relax and enjoy leisure time with your new HSP friends.

Walker Creek Ranch is located at 1700 Marshall-Petaluma Rd, Petaluma, California.  It sits on 1700 acres of open space where Walker Creek flows year round through clusters of alder trees and bay laurel forest.  There are over 20 miles of hiking trails featuring a panoramic view from the top of Walker Peak.

Directions & Transportation Options

It is not necessary to make a Groome  reservation too far in advance and it might be best to wait for additional participants to register as there may be other ride sharing options that become available.

Ride Sharing
We strongly encourage ride-sharing whenever possible. Please indicate if you are interested in sharing a ride or sharing rental car costs and we will attempt to connect you with others seeking ride-sharing.
Note: We cannot be responsible for ride-sharing connections nor any resulting issues that may arise. Thanks for understanding.
Turo Car Rental is available at both SFO and OAK and is an affordable alternative to the major car rental companies. Let us know if you are interested in ride sharing options via email: jacquelyn@hspgatheringretreats.com

Driving directions: https://www.walkercreekranch.org/maps-directions

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)  is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from WCR; however, heavy traffic along Hwy 101 often considerably adds to your driving time.

Oakland International Airport (OAK)  is approximately 1 hr 30 minutes from WCR and is much smaller and less congested than SFO and traffic is generally a bit better along the route to WCR.

Depth of Processing

Depth of processing is the most basic aspect of our SPS trait, and results in the deep, rich inner life most HSPs experience. Research has shown more brain activation in the prefrontal cortex and in a part of the brain called the insula which has sometimes been referred to as the ‘seat of consciousness.’ This creates the tendency to reflect more than others about the “way the world is going or “the meaning of life.” By integrating information and experiences, from both past and present, the HSP’s unique depth of processing can enable a sense and understanding of longer term consequences and may be able to influence future decisions with more creative and expansive thought.
