The 4th Colorado HSP Retreat
September 27, 28, 29, 2021

In lieu of the 37th HSP Gathering Retreat which is still on hold due to Covid, I am grateful to be able to offer the smaller, more intimate, 4th Colorado HSP Retreat, September 27-29, with the optional opportunity to join me in my
Nature as Teacher & Healer full-day outdoor excursion.

What will I learn at the Colorado HSP Retreat?

The 4th Colorado HSP Retreat will provide you with the opportunity to share what it is like to simply BE with other
like-minded HSPs (a magical experience in and of itself) as we explore and begin to understand and integrate:

Of course, all your questions about Sensory Processing Sensitivity will be answered and you will gain a working, lay person’s knowledge of the science and latest research about our trait.

I hope you can join me in September when Colorado’s Autumn will be displaying its full glory.

Our Retreat House

We will be utilizing a spacious, beautifully remodeled home as our meeting space. This home is 3 blocks from restaurants, and interesting alleyways in historic Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado. It is available for overnight guests: 3 bedrooms (King and 2 Queens.) After our meeting ends each day at 4:30 pm you will have access to the entire house including a full gourmet kitchen, 50” flat-screen TV, Blue-Ray/DVD player, and high-speed internet.

You will share the house with no more than 6 total if double occupancy in the three bedrooms or 3 others if single occupancy.

You can arrive at the Retreat House at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 27th. Our retreat will begin Monday afternoon at 4:00 pm.

FAQ

Groome Transportation, view their website.

If staying off-site, you can use Uber to get to and from where you are staying to the retreat house which is located on Mountain Avenue in Historic Old Town Ft. Collins.

I suggest searching Air BnB for affordable places in the 80521 zip code area first. Other zip codes would be 80524 or 80526 which are not too far from the retreat house. There is a Hilton Inn on Prospect Rd which is about 2.5 miles from the retreat house.

Yes, of course. The retreat cost is $395.

Yes. The maximum number is 15 – this is because of the size of the retreat house.

Lunch is provided at the retreat house. Special dietary concerns taken into account with advance notice.  Breakfast and dinner are on your own, with those staying in the retreat house having access to the full kitchen.  Healthy snacks, coffee, teas are provided. Restaurants, shops, bars, interesting alleyways are a nice three block walk away.

There has been a lot of interest and inquiry about staying in the house – although there are only 3 bedrooms:  1 King with private bath; 2 Queen with shared bath. Maximum occupancy would be 6 if there were two people in each room. One room has definitely been spoken for … so if you are interested let me know ASAP, so I can reserve a bedroom for you.

Yes. Please read the article:  Counseling the Highly Sensitive Person and ideally watch the documentary: Sensitive, The Untold Story.  There will be time for Q & A about both of these.

Depth of Processing

Depth of processing is the most basic aspect of our SPS trait, and results in the deep, rich inner life most HSPs experience. Research has shown more brain activation in the prefrontal cortex and in a part of the brain called the insula which has sometimes been referred to as the ‘seat of consciousness.’ This creates the tendency to reflect more than others about the “way the world is going or “the meaning of life.” By integrating information and experiences, from both past and present, the HSP’s unique depth of processing can enable a sense and understanding of longer term consequences and may be able to influence future decisions with more creative and expansive thought.
